Behind the Build

For this project, we documented the creation of one of the Space Needle’s brand-new double-decker elevators—from early construction through to some of its first rides. We installed a timelapse camera at the construction site to capture progress over several months, remotely monitoring the footage and adjusting as needed to ensure no milestone was missed. This long-term approach allowed us to build a complete visual record of the process, highlighting the precision and scale involved in constructing such a complex system.

Once the elevator was complete, we were among the first to ride it to the top. This gave us the opportunity to capture dynamic footage of the new experience—both the journey itself and the fresh perspective it offered visitors.
